What is the difference between the internet and the world wide web?

Discovering the Internet defines the internet as a global network of computers that allows individuals and business comptuer users around the world to share information and other resourses to conduct business transactions. The world wide web is a collection of those pages and we use the internet to access the world wide web using a web browser.

What is the internet and world wide web used for? Email, file sharing, online chat, phone and video calls, online gaming, blogging, shopping, etc.

If I wanted to connect to the internet, what options do I have? Dial up, high-speed, ADSL, Cable, Satelie, Microwave, Wi-Fi, and mobile wireless. Each method has a list of advantages and disadvantages.

How are web pages created? Web pages are created by a group of codes called HTML.

How long has the internet been around?

According to Discovering the Internet, the internet got its start in ARPANET, a research and defense initiative of the U.S. government in collaboration with technology firms and universites.

Who was a key player in the development of the web?

Tim Berners-Lee. He developed the use of hyperlinks between files, HTML, to create Web documents, the addressing scheme and the WorldWideWeb browser.
